What we collect and why
When you contact us
The site has no accounts or forms. If you email or phone us, we use your name, contact details and whatever you tell us only to reply and to help with your enquiry or pastoral care. We don't sell it or use it for marketing.
Analytics — only if you accept
If you click Accept on our cookie banner, we use Google Analytics (measurement ID G-1FCE2722X2) to understand how people use the site so we can improve it. It records things like the pages you view, roughly where you are (town or country, worked out from your IP address), your device and browser, and how you found us. Google Analytics does not store your full IP address, and we can't identify you personally from these reports.
If you click Decline, or make no choice, Google Analytics is not loaded and no analytics cookies are set.
Cookies
We only set analytics cookies if you accept them:

Your Accept/Decline choice itself is saved in your browser (not as a cookie) so we don't ask on every visit. It never leaves your device.
Changing your mind: use (also at the bottom of every page). If you decline after accepting, we switch Google Analytics off and remove its cookies.
Other services on this site
- YouTube videos use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode and only load when you press play. Once a video plays, Google may collect information under its own privacy policy.
- Online giving is handled by Zeffy. When you give online, Zeffy processes your payment and any Gift Aid declaration under its own privacy policy, and shares your donation details with us so we can thank you and claim Gift Aid.
- Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers and shares your IP address with them to download the font files.
- Hosting: the site is hosted by Netlify, which may keep short-term server logs (including IP addresses) to keep the site running securely.
- Links to Facebook, YouTube and Google Maps take you to those services, which have their own privacy policies.
Our lawful basis
- Consent for Google Analytics. You can withdraw it at any time through Cookie settings.
- Legitimate interests for replying when you contact us and for running the website securely.
Sharing and international transfers
Google (analytics, fonts, video) and Netlify (hosting) process data on our behalf or as independent providers. They may process it outside the UK, including in the United States, using the legal safeguards UK data protection law requires. We don't share your information with anyone else unless the law requires us to.
How long we keep it
- Google Analytics reports: 14 months, then automatically deleted by Google.
- Emails and messages: only as long as needed to help you, then deleted.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, object to how we use it, or withdraw consent. Contact us using the details above and we'll respond within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk or 0303 123 1113.
