Our commitment
Every person is made in the image of God and deserves to be treated with dignity, care and respect. We take seriously our responsibility to protect children, young people and adults at risk from harm, abuse and neglect, and to respond well when concerns are raised.
How we keep people safe
- We follow a written safeguarding policy, which is reviewed regularly by our leadership.
- People who work with children, young people or adults at risk are carefully recruited, including appropriate DBS checks and references.
- Our leaders and volunteers receive safeguarding training and know what to do if they have a concern.
- We take every concern seriously, record it carefully and pass it on to the right authorities when needed.
- We aim to create a culture where anyone can speak up, and where those who raise concerns are listened to and supported.
Raising a concern
If you're worried about a child, young person or adult — or about the behaviour of someone involved in our church — please talk to our safeguarding lead as soon as possible. You don't need to be certain something is wrong to share a concern.
If you'd prefer to speak to someone outside the church, you can contact:
- NSPCC helpline (adults worried about a child): 0808 800 5000
- Childline (for children and young people): 0800 1111
- Police: 999 in an emergency, 101 otherwise
